Police are hunting for intruders who shot a man dead and attacked another with a hammer during a home invasion south of Brisbane.
An unknown number of people broke into a house at Gleneagle and shot 48-year-old Michael Menzel in the leg just before 6am on Monday.

He died shortly afterwards.
The intruders also attacked a second man, 40, who is in a stable condition after being hit on the head with a hammer.
Mr Menzel's 13-year-old daughter was in the house at the time and witnessed the attack on her father..She is not believed to have been physically injured.
"She's seen paramedics working really hard trying to keep him alive, significant blood loss, so she's got the trauma of that to deal with," Jim Ploughman of Queensland Police said yesterday.

Police are hunting a black, new model, Holden Commodore utility with no registration plates that was seen leaving the address and last seen travelling on the Mount Lindesay Highway.

Anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle, or has dash cam video or CCTV in the vicinity of Brittany Court before 6am yesterday is urged to come forward.
