Woolworths shopper finds dead spider in loaf of bread

Two Woolworths shoppers have taken to social media to claim they found spiders in two popular products.
In one incident, a shopper named Merlin reported finding a large spider in his Woolworths loaf.
He shared photos of what appeared to be the curled-up dead critter embedded into a slice.

In his Facebook post, Merlin wrote: "I recently purchased a loaf of bread from your Northland store and I saw that something was stuck in one of the slices. Turns out to be a spider.'I'm glad I saw it before devouring it.'
"I have no idea how this passed through your quality control area (if you have one) as you could see the spider through the bag as pictured."
He also added: "I'm glad I saw it before devouring it!"

Other social media users were quick to respond.
"Never eating bread again, cheers," said one.
Added another: "How that even went unnoticed is beyond me."
A third said: "So gross".
In a second incident, another shopper, named Cheyanne, claimed she found a dead spider at the bottom of her Woolworths brand Traditional Mayonnaise.
She posted a photo which appeared to show it visible from the outside of the bottle.

"How does a spider end up in mayonnaise? Obviously Woolworths’s factory needs a good clean. Absolutely vile," she wrote.
But other users had a relaxed approach to the find.
"Daddy long leg in mayonnaise. If this picture doesn’t say Australia then I don’t know what does!" said one.
A spokesman for Woolworths told 7NEWS.com.au: "At Woolworths, we take food safety seriously. We’ve made contact with both customers and are looking into these matters further". Copied by 7 news Australia.
